1. Who we are

Splittd ("Splittd", "we", "our", "us") is a mobile application operated by SliceToMeetYou s.r.o., a company registered in the Czech Republic under company number (IČO) 17676592.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have. If you have any questions, contact us at privacy@splittd.app.

2. The short version

Splittd is built to require as little personal data as possible. We don't ask for your email, phone number, or real name. We don't track you across the internet. We don't sell your data. Ever.

3. Data we collect

3.1 Data you provide

Username — a display name you choose. This is not verified and does not need to be your real name.
Group and expense data — group names, expense descriptions, amounts, currencies, dates, and who paid/owes what.
Chat messages — text you send inside a group chat.
Donations (optional) — if you donate via our website, Stripe processes the payment. We do not store your card details.

3.2 Data collected automatically

Device identifier — a randomly generated ID stored on your device, used to identify your data without requiring an account. This ID is not linked to any personally identifiable information.
Crash and diagnostic data — anonymized error reports to help us fix bugs.
In-app purchase status — whether you have unlocked the paid version, validated via Google Play / Apple App Store.

3.3 Data we do NOT collect

Email address or phone number
Real name or date of birth
Precise location
Contacts or address book
Photos or media (unless you explicitly attach them)
Browsing history outside Splittd
Advertising identifiers

4. How we use your data

To let you create and manage shared expense groups
To sync your groups across your devices
To enable group chat between members of the same group
To convert currencies in real time
To verify your in-app purchase
To diagnose crashes and improve the app

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making.

5. Who we share data with

We share data only with service providers we need to run Splittd:

Supabase (database hosting, EU region) — stores your groups, expenses, and chat messages.
Google Play Billing / Apple App Store — processes in-app purchases.
Stripe — processes optional website donations.
Expo / EAS — handles push notifications and app updates.
An exchange rate provider — used for live currency conversion. We send only the currency codes, never your expense data.

We never sell your data. We never share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

6. Where your data is stored

Your data is stored on Supabase servers in the European Union. Backups are encrypted at rest.

7. How long we keep your data

Group and expense data — kept until you delete the group or your account.
Chat messages — kept until the group is deleted.
Crash data — kept for up to 90 days.
Donation records — kept for 10 years for accounting and tax purposes (legal requirement in the Czech Republic).

8. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

Right to access the data we hold about you
Right to correct inaccurate data
Right to delete your data
Right to restrict or object to processing
Right to data portability
Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the Czech Republic: Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů — ÚOOÚ)

9. Children's privacy

Splittd is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. However, no system is 100% secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your data, we will notify you within 72 hours.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
